The question, Whats the matter with college, invites Perlsteins unconstructive description of the conditions; Whats the matter with high school properly redirects the investigation to the japanese want the source.

Perlstein is also misguided in sympathizing with todays creative searchers, as he calls them, students stifled by their anti-intellectual, conformist college environments, their only fault having been born a generation too late. (Poor things!) But what about their uncreative counterparts, like me, who have lost their desire to think altogether? We, the students, were so shocked to see The New York Times leak into our network a few months ago (to set up a Facebook group for this very contest) that no one said a word on the groups discussion boards all summer! We live in bullet analysis, a digital era, and everythingeven the core of the japanese want, our college experienceis alive and well on the web. Its where we thrive.

Why does student life no longer seem all that important? If you have to ask, youll never know. College matters.
